It seems that many people interpret “local control” as an inalieanable right to do anything they want. Where is the local control when corporations dictate the size of their stores to communities? Where is the local control when neighboring communities can harm businesses in your community? Control of your property ends at your property line. If you rent, you cannot disturb neighboring apartments. One can only do as one wants when no other persons are involved. Most persons learn this between the ages of two and three. Local community control ends at community lines or no community has local control. Growth will require people to learn to live with more and more people, closer around them, and more rules so that lives do not interfere.
